History Group Activities

Activities

The History group is also keen to expand their knowledge through site visits and experimental archaeology. These activities tend to be a mixture of hard work and fun (often ending with a visit to a local hostelry). Not all these events are documented but where they are they do show just how much the participants enjoyed the event.

Recent topics have included talks on Rural Protests, The Huntingdon Mint, Identifying worked Flint, and an Archaeological dig at the Priors Hall Roman Estate in Corby.  Some summer highlights have included visits to Kimbolton Castle and Huntingdon Archives along with the continuance of the archaeology activities including metal detecting, field walking and test pits/trenches.
